Description
Designed by BVLA (Body Vision Los Angeles), the Lucy in Chains Hinge Ring is a layered, texture-rich design that blends contrast, movement, and precision craftsmanship. Crafted in solid 14k gold, this 16 gauge, 5/16” diameter hinge ring features a dimensional three-ring construction with integrated gemstone detailing.
The design is built from two graduating 16ga rings paired with a forward-facing row of .8mm prongs, each set with nineteen 0.8mm VS white diamonds. A 1mm cable chain hangs subtly below the final ring, adding fluid movement and visual depth.
To enhance contrast, the front ring is finished in high polish, while the second ring features a sandblasted finish, creating a refined interplay of light and texture. Finished with a smooth hinge closure, Lucy in Chains is engineered for both comfort and elevated everyday wear.

Our jewelry is solid 14k gold (never plated) with a high-polish, skin-safe finish. Settings are low-profile for daily comfort; posts and hinges are engineered for smooth insertion and a secure fit.
Gemstones
We use ethically sourced stones set with prongs or bezel. Hard gems (diamond/sapphire) are everyday-ready; softer/porous stones (opal, turquoise, pearl, emerald) need gentler care (see cleaning).
Fit & wear
Choose sizes recommended by your piercer. For threadless ends, a slight bend in the pin creates tension; check security weekly. Hinged and seam rings are delicate—open with a twist (never pull apart).
Care & cleaning
- Daily: rinse after showers/working out; pat dry.
- Routine clean: mild soap + soft brush, then rinse and dry.
- Avoid: chlorine pools/hot tubs, harsh chemicals, ultrasonic cleaners for opal, turquoise, pearl, emerald.
- Polishing: use a non-abrasive gold cloth on metal only (not over stones).
- Storage: separate pouch/compartment to prevent scratches.
Piercing safety
Gold is best for healed piercings. For new piercings, use implant-grade titanium or solid 14k gold that meets professional standards—ask your piercer.
